When I feel down or unmotivated, I usually look up and watch commencement speeches to get a fresh dose of inspiration. Among those speeches, there were two that I came back to rewatch again and again.
1. Steve Jobs at Stanford in 2005
Steve Jobs is an entrepreneur and inventor who is most well-known as the Co-Founder and Former CEO of Apple. Throughout his career, he revolutionized six different industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing. In this speech, he shares three stories from his life. Even though I knew the lessons by heart, I still rewatched this video so many times because his energy and delivery were just so inspiring.
2. Chris Sacca at University of Minnesota in 2011
Chris Sacca is a venture capital investor who is most well-known for making early investments in Uber, Twitter (now X), Instagram, Twilio, Kickstarter, among others. I admire and respect him so much for his ability to chart his own path. As I love a clear process, this speech is perfect! Chris lays out 7 steps to achieve career successes and live a happy life. Plus, Chris is hilarious!
An interview worth checking out on the Tim Ferriss Show podcast: Chris Sacca on Being Different and Making Billions (#79)
